Robert Earl Brown, 65, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away on May 12, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born February 18, 1950, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Carol F. and Leah Sams Brown.Bob had always worked starting by mowing yards for neighbors, putting in hay and milking cows. He previously worked at Stewart's Gas Station, Jim's Quick Stop, and Bonded Sleep Products as a driver. He was a 1969 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and graduated from Marshall University. He taught mathematics at Hamilton Junior High and worked as a lab technician with Cabot Corp until they closed in 2008. He went back to school at Washington Career Center, where he helped build Habitat for Humanity houses. He volunteered his time to drive cancer patients to treatments for ACS Road to Recovery until he no longer could due to his health.He loved God and served him faithfully as church treasurer of First Sams Creek Baptist Church, through his faith in God he had eternal hope. He was a good neighbor and great friend. He told his friends, “Stop by and see us anytime, we will sit on the front porch and drink a cup of coffee together.”Bob loved his family and cherished the time with them working or playing outdoors, giving his grandsons rides on the four-wheeler.He had the biggest hand you ever shook and the biggest heart we ever knew.He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Webb Brown; his daughters, Sarah Brown and fiancé, Ollie Adkins of Ashland, Ky. and Crystal Morales-Brown and her husband, Xavier of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Elaine Bell; four brothers, Daryl Brown (Mary Pat), Kay Brown (Connie), Ray Brown, and Ron Brown (Kim), all of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two grandsons, Alex and Robi Morales-Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Lennox.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Brown; three sisters, Imogene Brown, Wilma Cook and Avanel Ruble; and one infant brother.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.The family wishes to thank those who spoke a kind word, whispered a prayer, or thought of them during this time.
