Henderson, Sr., 88, of Albany, GA, formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 15, 2010, at his residence in GA.He was born March 11, 1922, in Marietta, OH, a son of the late John L. and Luwena Laver Henderson.Richard retired after nearly thirty-eight years of service with the Monongahela Power Co. He was a true outdoorsman, having enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially enjoyed woodworking. He was a past Master of Parkersburg Lodge No. 169, A.F & A.M. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Helen M. Leach Henderson; two sons, Richard E. Henderson Jr. and wife Bonny F. and Gerald W. Henderson and fiancé Kimberly, both of Albany, GA; and three grandchildren, Audra M. Helm of Spartanburg, SC, Debbie A. Watson of Washington, W.Va., and Michael Thomas, also of Albany, GA.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Anne MacLachan; one granddaughter, Krista Fint; one sister, Doris Newman; and one brother, Carl W. Henderson.Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Wednesday October 20, 2010, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with Pastor Ryan Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastlawn Memorial Park, Reno, OH, with Masonic rites conducted by Parkersburg Lodge No. 169, A.F. & A.M. and full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 64 of Marietta. The family will receive friends from 5-9PM on Tuesday October 19, 2010, at the funeral home.
