Richard L. Caplinger

Caplinger age 76, of Elizabeth, WV passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 24, 1942 in Wood County, a son of the late Ernest Earl and Arizona Ruth Coartney Caplinger. Richard was retired from E.I. DuPont with over 37 years of service. He enjoyed farming and woodworking and was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife, Sandra Eagle Caplinger; his son, Steven Caplinger (Christina) of Charlotte, NC; his two daughters, Angela Lehto (Neil) of Millsboro, DE and Amy Dutton (Cody) of Boerne, TX; his sister-in-law, Jean; and his four grandchildren, Courtney, Kayla, Cole, and Sara. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Roberts Caplinger; and one brother, Carroll Caplinger. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Ted Osgood officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
