Richard Lee “Dick” Cain, 71 of Parkersburg passed away July 20, 2018 at his residence.He was born September 14, 1946 in Parkersburg a son of the late Orville D. and Bertha Uhl Cain. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was active duty in the Dominican Republic. Dick was known for the beautiful knives he made that showed his craftsmanship. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, canning and was an excellent cook who loved to serve food to others. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Katy Lemon Cain; one daughter, Amy Thomas of Parkersburg; one son, Jason Cain (Stacy) of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Ryan, Katelyn, Emma, and Henry Cain, Hayley, Torrey, and Grayson Thomas; his great-granddaughter, Elsie Cain; brothers, Bob (Patty) Cain, Bill (Neady) Cain and Tim Cain; sisters, Linda Stull and Becky (David) Burris; and sister-in-law, Lisa Cain. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, David Cain, Sr.; a sister-in-law, Brenda Cain; and a brother-in-law, Clifford Stull. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Parkersburg with Pastor Keith Hostutler officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St. Parkersburg and one hour prior to services at the church.
