Rhoda Ann Trippett

Rhoda Ann Bell Trippett, 95, of Parkersburg, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2015 at Worthington Nursing and Rehab Center.She was born May 15, 1919, in Wirt County, W.Va., the daughter of Francis Howard and Bessie Lee Cox Bell.Rhoda was a 1936 graduate of Wirt County High School and a 1940 graduate of Glenville State College. She was a teacher in Wood and Wirt County Schools, longtime member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, a member of Crossroads United Methodist Women and Valley Mills Homemakers. She helped cook at Wood County Senior Center and bowled on several leagues at Emerson Bowling Lanes.She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting.She is survived by two sons, Arwin Trippett (Laura) of Vienna, W.Va. and Marvin Trippett (Donna) of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Ann Martin, Jefferson Lee Trippett, Jessica Lynn Trippett, Kevin Lee Trippett (Deborah) and Brian Alan Trippett (Sharon); and six great-grandchildren, Emily Michelle Martin,Brooks Aaron Martin, Naiya Lynn Trippett, Madison Renee' Trippett, Hunter Lloyd Ray Trippett, and Joshua Harrison-Lloyd Trippett.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lloyd Ray Trippett; a son, Darwin Francis Trippett; a brother, Ray Bell; and two sisters, Hazel Walcutt and Gladys LaDeaux.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at Crossroads United Methodist Church with Pastor Teresa Markins officiating. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery in Elizabeth, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.Special thanks to caregiver, Diane Watkins, Meals on Wheels, and Worthington Nursing and Rehab Center.In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church, 7390 Old St. Marys Pike, Waverly, WV26184.
