Raymond Ray Carpenter, 89, of Vienna, WV, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2019, surrounded with love from his family. Raymond was born July 7, 1929 in Vienna, WV to Henry Reed and Daisy Bell (Baker) Carpenter. Raymond met his loving wife and best friend of 71 years, Naida Benson, and they wed November 8, 1947. He and Naida raised two sons together; Michael, and Rick. He retired, after 37 years, from Johns Mansville and was a member of Rosemar United Methodist Church. Raymond will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Naida; their two sons, Michael (Patricia) and Rick (Teresa); his sister, Boots Offenberger (Don); his four grandchildren, Deidra Ferguson (David), Andrea Jones (Brent), Jessica Coy (Herb), and Joseph (Nina); and his four great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Ferguson, Ella Coy, Ashlynne Jones, and Grant Coy. In addition to his parents, Henry and Daisy, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rex, Harl, and John, and his sisters, Frances Moss, Velva Reisdorf and Ruth Alexander. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 15, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Carpenter officiating. Graveside services to follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.
