Emma Rae Griffith Runkle, 90, of Little Hocking, Ohio passed away January 26, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 1, 1926 in Pennsgrove, New Jersey, a daughter of James and Elizabeth Jess Griffith. Rae was a homemaker and mother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed camping, quilting, antiquing, and being a seamstress. She attended Quinton Baptist Church in New Jersey and is currently a member of Porterfield Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. Rae also performed mission work with the Ann Judson Circle and Fellowship Circle. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Elmer Hospital, in Elmer New Jersey. She joyfully resided with Louise and James Tufts for 19 years. She is survived by her children, Suzanne Davis (Gary), Brian R. Runkle (Rose), Cynthia Sharp, and Louise Tufts (James); brother, Charles Griffith; son-in-law, Lawton King (Dee); daughter-in-law, Ruth Runkle; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grand children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Robert Runkle; a daughter, Diana King; a son, Gregory Runkle; two sisters, Beatrice Maul and Edna Powell; and three brothers, William, James, and George Griffith. A funeral service will be held 5:30 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, Ohio with Reverend Mark Eaton officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
