R. Jean Meadows

Jean Meadows, 91 of Parkersburg passed away June 14, 2018 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home. She was born April 16, 1927 in Sutton, WV a daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Mae Skidmore Posey. She was retired from American Viscose and was a seamstress for several years. She also worked at Yunker's Sewing Manufacturer. Jean was a member of Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville, WV. She also enjoyed walking. Jean is survived by her son, Terry (Judy) Meadows of Parkersburg; a sister, Thelma Cowger of Baltimore, MD; one grandchild, Michael Meadows of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Ed” Meadows; four sisters, Orpha Davis, Auda Davis, Rosalie Matheny and Betty Brady; and two brothers, Web Posey and Charles Posey. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg with Sterling Ball and Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
