Pryce Dearien

April 5, 1968 — May 23, 2018

Pryce Dearien 50, passed away peacefully at WVU Medical Center in Parkersburg after a long and courageous battle with ALS, on May 23, 2018 with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Missy (Foggin) Dearien, of Parkersburg. He is the son of William and Sidney (Scully) Dearien of Vienna. He was born April 5, 1968 at Charleston General Hospital in Charleston, WV. Pryce moved to Vienna in 1978 along with his family. He soon met Missy, where her father coached him in Vienna Recreation baseball. He graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School in 1986 and began attending WVU-P that same year. He was a sports enthusiast and loved to watch as well as participate. He excelled at baseball and golf. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Pryce was a hard worker, and good kind leader and managed to make everyone feel at home in his presence. Pryce was the Operations Director at 5 Subway stores that were owned and operated by his parents. Prior to his illness, he was café manager at Sam's Club. His dream was to own his own restaurant some day. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his son, Tyler Dearien of Davisville; his daughter, Abigail Dearien of Davisville; his sister, Kelle (Bill) Cosner of Parkersburg; his brother, James Dearien of Beckley. The family would like to thank everyone for their support in the four years that Pryce battled ALS. They would like to acknowledge Wayne Foggin, Missy's brother who assisted with his care during this time, also the wonderful staff of WVU Medical Center of Parkersburg, who treated Pryce and Missy like family and knew them by name. So many special bonds were made. Pryce was able to give the gift of life to three individuals by being an organ donor. His beautiful presence will live on through them. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna. Funeral services will be at 6:00 P.M. on the same day at the funeral home with Father Mike Scully, Pryce's Uncle, leading us in prayer, a reception will follow the service in the Family Center at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the Dave Couch ALS Foundation, in memory of Pryce. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.lamberttatman.com.
