Phyllis A.Wendelken, 81, of Vienna, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 30, 2014 at The Marietta Center, Marietta, Ohio.She was born June 27, 1933 in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Issac Bruce and Helen Athey McIntire. She was a 1951 graduate of Parkersburg High School. Phyllis worked for the Wood County Board of Education as a teacher's aid. She enjoyed crafts and camping, and was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir.She is survived by her husband, Edward S. Wendelken; two sons, Bruce E. Wendelken (Pam) of Elizabeth, W.Va. and Scott A. Wendelken of Little Hocking, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a son, John Wendelken; and a sister, Kay Stanley.Funeral services for Phyllis will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Vienna Baptist Church, 3401 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with Pastors Bill Brown and Dennis Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna and one hour prior to services at the church.
