Phyllis B. Ayers

Phyllis Pauline Ayers, 91, of Belpre, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Athens, Ohio. She was born October 23, 1925 in Reedsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles V. and Wilma A. Whiteside Buckley. Phyllis was a 1943 graduate of Chester High School and had been employed at Wood County Bank and Shell Chemical prior to retiring as a clerk from Huntsman Chemical. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Charles and her late brother, Howard. She was a member of Eastern Star and Belpre Church of Christ. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Mary Helen Humphrey of Parkersburg, W.Va. and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles W. Ayers in 2005; her three brothers, Keith, Paul and Howard Buckley; and by an infant sister, Darlene Buckley. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Reedsville Cemetery, Reedsville, Ohio with Minister Ronald D. Laughery officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to Noon Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio.
