Peter Frederick Kimos Stucki

December 10, 1944 — October 28, 2024

Peter F. K. Stucki passed away on Monday, October 28th, 2024 at his home in Parkersburg, WV. Born on December 10th, 1944, Peter grew up in Baltimore, MD, the son of James C. Kimos and Anna Kimos (nee Stucki). He grew up as the youngest of three, along with his sister Constance Kimos, and older brother James G. Kimos.

Peter had a love of history, traveling, cooking, music and architecture. He experienced a life filled with music and language. Playing piano, flute and harmonica were among his passions. His musical talents graced local churches and he was known for his creativity. One such hobby, creating board and card games, was a particular joy for him. Peter was also a ‘car guy’ at heart and enjoyed driving to new adventures and meeting new people along the way. Never one to let moss grow under his feet, he found places to call home in Maryland, Nova Scotia and West Virginia, several houses of which were his own design.

Through his career as a speech pathologist for many years, he was a teacher at his core. He helped those who needed to find their voice and coached many people struggling with words. His love of language helped him give back to others.

Peter loved to travel and one such meaningful trip brought him to Switzerland to explore his Swiss heritage and genealogy. He learned to speak German as well and traveled to Switzerland several times.

Watching football was also a joy for Peter. Once an avid fan of the Baltimore Colts, he often spent Saturdays with college football games on in the background. His love of history also found Antiques Roadshow or Downton Abbey a favorite on his channel list.

For those visiting his home, a warm welcome and a perfectly prepared lunch would await.

Peter is survived by his sister, Connie Kimos, his niece Stefanie Kimos as well as his two nephews, Stephen and Andrew Kimos.

A funeral will be held privately by the family.
