She was surrounded by her loved ones at home when she passed peacefully after a battle with stomach cancer.She was born Nov. 1, 1963 in Horseheads, NY a daughter of Ed and Pauline Cleveland Whiting of Hernando Beach, FL. She was employed by Suddenlink Communications for the past five years. She was a member of the Tri-City Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, Paula is survived by her beloved husband, Cleave Griffin Jr.; four children, Laurie Eakins (Philip) of Belpre, Ohio, Cleave Griffin III (Cassandra) of Ocean City, NC, Heather Caplinger (Bradley) of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Amy Wood (Kyle) of Davisville, W.Va.; her mother-in-law, Elaine Griffin of Davisville, W.Va.; her sister, Donna Gibson of Belpre, Ohio; her brother, Roy Whiting (Andrea) of Spring Hill, FL; and her grandchildren, Bryson Hutton and Ava Wood of Davisville, W.Va., Cleave IV, Haley, Cameron Griffin and Christina of Winston Salem, NC; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Cleave Griffin Sr. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at Tri-City Baptist Church.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3901 Briscoe Rd., Suite 10 Parkersburg, WV 26104.
