He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, New Port Richey, FL, where he served in the church chancel choir.He was preceded in death by his wife, Vergie Booher Turner; his parents, Joseph F. Turner and Maude Gabbert Turner; and a granddaughter, Ashley Turner.He is survived by his second wife, Eva Bennett Turner of Trinity, Florida; son, Steven P. Turner of Dunedin, Florida; daughter-in-law, Patricia F. Turner of Dunedin, Florida; daughter, Jan P. Kiger of Vienna, W.Va.; step-daughters, Sandra K. Davitian and Reva D. Bennett of Vienna, W.Va.; step-son-in-law, Lou Davitian of Vienna, W.Va.; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.He was a 1942 graduate of Parkersburg High School and entered the Marine Corps in December 1942, where he served in the Pacific Theatre in the Solomon Islands during WWII. He was owner and operator of Ann Street Market, Parkersburg, W.Va., from 1946 till 1978. Before moving to Florida, he resided in Vienna, W.Va., and served as an Elder at Beechwood Presbyterian Church, Parkersburg, W.Va., and was also a member of Vienna Masonic Lodge No. 172.Memorial services will be held at 12-noon Saturday November 6, 2010, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with Rev. Dr. Patrick Kerr officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
