Paul H. Evans, 82, of Parkersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born February 23, 1936, in Smithville, WV, the son of the late Romeo and Alice Hawkins Evans. Paul was a 1955 graduate of Harrisville High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from G.E. Plastics after 35 years. Following retirement from G.E. he managed and ran the Amvets. Paul loved his two dogs, Zoe and Cloe and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to Florida with his friend, Mary Haught. Paul was an avid fan of WVU and Parkersburg South High School and enjoyed watching all sports. He is survived by his two daughters, Monica Sturm (Robert) and Michelle Offenberger (Troy) both of Parkersburg; five grandchildren; Zachary, Kristen (Andrew), Derek (Kara), Shawna and Scott; one great-grandchild, Pryce; friend, Mary Haught of Smithville, WV, and the mother of his children, Gloria Kay Evans of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. The family would like to share a special thanks to Housecalls Hospice, Dr. Dugan and Dr. Cramer. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Shane Hostutler officiating. American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg will begin the service to honor our beloved Veteran. Visitation will from 4-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
