Patricia Ann Ables Kelly, 83, peacefully departed her earthly struggles and gained her heavenly wings on August 17, 2024, at Camden Clark Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
Pat, or Patty Ann, was born June 9, 1941 in Ravenswood, WV. There, her parents, Lawrence & Louise Ables raised her alongside her 9 siblings.
She graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1959 and has cherished lifelong friendships with her classmates.
She lived in Davisville, WV with her husband of 62 years, Carl Kelly. In her early career she worked at Midland Grocery and the Department of Highways, she co-founded Carl Kelly Paving with her husband in 1978, and later All-Ways Paving in 1997 before retiring in 2012. Renowned for her kindness, generosity, and commitment to family and friends she dedicated countless hours to serving the community in various roles, displaying a deep passion for assisting others and bringing happiness to those around her.
Don't forget her love for sweets, as she was always whipping up something delicious in the kitchen.
Pat was a founding and active member of New Hope Baptist Church and shared a special 30-year bond with her "PALS" (Prayers and Loving Sisters) group, with whom she was closely connected.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Carl Kelly, and is remembered by her son, Scott (Gina) Kelly; daughter, Mary Jo (Chris) Pedersen; sister, JoEllen (Richard) Hendrickson; and four grandchildren: Eric Kelly, Joey Kelly, Brittany (Chris) Lawhon, and Grace Pedersen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street from 4-7pm on Friday, August 23. Funeral service will follow at 7pm. Food and refreshments will be available in the Family Center during the visitation and after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to New Hope Baptist Church, Jon Six Food Ministry, or the United Way in remembrance of her kindness.
