Patricia Ann Douglass

Patricia Ann Douglass, 92, of Vienna, WV, passed on April 20, 2024, surrounded by her family in her own home. She was born in Barbour County, WV. September 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Michael Aaron O’Brien and Goldie Wilson O’Brien.
She graduated early from high school and went straight to nursing school becoming a Registered Nurse.
Pat was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg with her husband, Judge Daniel B. Douglass who predeceased her in 2014. She was married to Dan for 62 years before his death.
She put her nursing career on hold to be a devoted wife and mother of her three children, Ernest Michael Douglass (Amanda), Ellen Douglass Dalton (Paul), and Daniel Brobst Douglass II, all of whom followed their father in the practice of law.
Later, when her children were in high school and college, Pat attended Marietta College and attained a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Following her degree, she was employed with Camden Clark Hospital for 20 years as an Registered Nurse/Social Worker, before she retired to spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Pat enjoyed square dancing, gardening, reading, painting, embroidery, sewing, knitting, and family vacations to the beach and to the Audra State Park near Belington, WV. where she grew up.
Pat is survived by her three children who are listed above; her grandchildren, Maghee Michael Douglass (Ines), Jubal Leah Douglass (Jon Bauer), Kezia Jo Parsons (Tom), D’Risen Sean Douglass (Maranda), and Elizabeth Jane Baca (Richard); and great-grandchildren, Miguel Michael Douglass, Stacey Dariana Douglass, Charity Carmen Douglass, Piper Rose Bauer, Odin Blake Bauer, Elliot Joseph Baca, Kandis Alexander, Ollie Alexander and Lillian Douglass.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Pat was preceded in death by her siblings, Melville O’Brien, Michael O’Brien, and Sharon (Bree) Stone.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg with Pastor Annie McMillian officiating. There will be a reception at the church immediately following the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Vienna Public Library.
