Oleta Ruth Wilt

Oleta Ruth Wilt, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 20th, 2026, in Parkersburg, WV. Born on September 11th, 1931, in Calhoun County, WV, Oleta led a life rich with love and dedication to her family and community.

Oleta had a passion for cooking and served as a dedicated cook with the Wood County Board of Education for many years. In addition to her professional endeavors, she was a devoted volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital, where she offered her time and compassion for over 20 years. Known for her skillful crocheting, Oleta created countless cherished pieces for her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Allen L. Wilt (Dixie) and Arthur D. Wilt (Melody), as well as her four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold A. Wilt, her parents Rosco and Nettie Richards Tingler, and her siblings Arlie, Roma, Ona, Orville, Alvin, Margaret, Dorothy, Ireda, and Velda.

Oleta's life will be celebrated at a funeral service on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna, with Rev. Jim Yoak officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, Oleta will be laid to rest at Evergreen North Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna. The family extends their heartful thanks to all who have supported them during this time.

Oleta's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
