Oleta Marie Kerns - Williams

Oleta Marie Kerns Williams, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Elmcroft Assisted Living of Marietta, OH. She was born January 26, 1936, near Cairo, WV, the daughter of the late Arthur and Zelma Michael Kerns. Oleta was a 1953 graduate of Cairo High School. She retired from AB Chance Company as a Shipping Manager after 25 years of service. Oleta was a member of the Eastern Star of Harrisville, Chapter 29 for over 65 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, the outdoors and spending time in her garden. She was a lifetime member of Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville and loved being involved with church activities and gospel sings. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Shawn) Graham of Parkersburg; son, Craig (Amy) Williams of Morgantown, WV; sister in-law, Pearl Kerns of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Kristopher Sean (Christy) Gillespie, Emily Brenice Williams and Jacob Craig Williams; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Dawn Gillespie and Easton Lane Gillespie; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Oleta was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Wayne “Buck” Williams; and three siblings, Robert Kerns (Edna), Loretta Gates (Donald) and Dennis Kerns. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor John Frum officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Harrisville, WV. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to be made to: Grace Gospel Church and/or Amedysis Hospice of Marietta. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
