O. Emogene Morningstar, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Jan. 26, 2015 at The Heritage in St. Marys, W.Va. She had made several new friends there among the staff and clients over the last year and a half.Emogene was born March 18, 1927, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late D. Earl and Mabel Patterson Harbin.She graduated from PHS in Jan. 1945 where she was an honor student and thespian.She had the lead role in the senior play. She was involved in several school activities and clubs.Jean married her childhood sweetheart, Fred Morningstar on June 16, 1946, when he returned from World War II.Jean, as she was known, worked and retired from the several titled entities of Best Photo where she was a printer and taught photograph printing to others that worked there. Her hobbies were photography and painting still-lifes and landscapes in oil. She also loved music and dancing, telling stories and jokes and making conversation. She is survived by two sons, F. Michael Morningstar (Donna) of Glenville, W.Va. and Steven D. Morningstar (Debbie Novotny) of Friendly, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Carol Morningstar of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.; one brother, Darrell Harbin (Jane) of Vienna, W.Va.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Morningstar; one son, Mark A. Morningstar; one grandson, Ben Morningstar; a brother, Paul Harbin; and two sisters, Ramona Harrison and Joan Rake.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with family and friends eulogizing and sharing stories of Jean's life. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
