Norma Lee Downs

Norma Lee Downs age 78, of Williamstown, WV passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born February 3, 1939 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Floyd and Virginia Bayles Peters. Norma was retired from Parkersburg Cardiology Associates and was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church, where she was very active and volunteered as secretary. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, working puzzles and spending time with her family. Norma is survived by her son, Keith Downs (Michelle) of Racine, Ohio; daughter, Susan Whitney of Dover, Delaware; five sisters and brothers, Freda Hostottle of Vienna, Dale Peters (Lynne) of Parkersburg, Robert Peters (Sheila) of Mineral Wells, Delores Peters of Parkersburg and Janice Carpenter (Charles) of Arkansas; four grandchildren, Tye Gail, Zachary Downs, Jason Whitney, and Jazzmin Whitney; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Gilly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren C. “Willy” Downs; and one brother, Harold Peters. Funeral services and celebration of Norma’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Crossroads United Methodist Church with Pastor John Frum officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna.
