Nora Audrey Keith Brookover, 95, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away December 28, 2011 following a brief illness. She was born on April 1, 1916 in Wood County, W.Va. a daughter of the late Jessie Warren and Amanda Parsons Keith. Nora graduated from West Virginia University where she earned a Masters Degree and then to worked in both the Wood and Calhoun County School Systems as a teacher until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Her church was also a big part of her life. She was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where she was active in the Sunday school and Bible Study groups. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving is her daughter, Carolyn Guckert and husband, Paul of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; son, Lloyd Keith and wife, Helen also of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; four step-sons, Craig Brookover and wife, Mary of Norht Carolina, Scott Brookover of Pennsylvania, Bill McCartney, and Brian Brookover, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; her sister, Nellie Herning of Parkersburg, W.Va.; grandchildren, Lisa Beall and husband, Gary of Buckhannon, W.Va., Zondra Johnson and husband, Scott of Marietta, Ohio, and Karmen Lockhart and husband, Tim of Coolville, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Holly Beall of Buchannon,Lauren Page of Hawaii, Kailyn Browning, Nathan Lockhart, and Abigail Lockhart, all of Coolville, Ohio; great-great-grandchildren, Nora Jane Page of Hawaii and Zoe Brookover of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gale L. Brookover who passed away August 1, 2011; son, Jimmy Keith; sister, Edith O'Donnell; and brother, Ray M. Keith. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 31, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Dr. Thomas McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
