Noel Warren Wheaton, 89, previously from Vienna, WV died peacefully May 12, 2019 in Sun City Center, FL following an extended illness. He was born in Vienna, WV on June 4, 1929, a son of the late Forest Estepp and Lillian McKibben Wheaton. Noel was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Wheaton File and his brother, William Wheaton. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Wheaton Mikos (John) of Sun City Center, FL and Gregory Warren Wheaton of Coconut Creek, FL; and his grandchildren, Anne Mikos Wynn (Matthew), Chase Wheaton, Cori Wheaton, Carly Wheaton, and Laura Mikos. After graduating from Parkersburg High School, Noel volunteered to serve in the US Army and was stationed in post-war Germany. When he returned home, he began his career with Johns-Manville and started his family. A devoted tennis-dad and founder of Greenmont Racquet Club, he enjoyed tennis, golf, following the stock market, and cheering for the Mountaineers. An active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Noel ushered and greeted until 2017 when his illness forced a relocation to Florida to be closer to his children. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by a funeral at 3:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna with Pastor John Lowther officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution in his name to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 3911 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV, 26105.
