Nava Jo Burge, a cherished resident of The Heritage Assisted Living, St. Marys, passed away on July 24th, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on March 17th, 1936 to the late Earl and Virginia Hutchinson Walker
Nava was a beloved homemaker whose passion was evident in her dedication to her family. A member of Grace Gospel Church, and previously an active member at Bethel Baptist Church, Nava found joy in her faith and church activities. Her creativity shone through her oil paintings and her cherished collection of Boyd Bears. Known for her warmth and kindness, Nava made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Duane "Brad" Burge and his wife Susan, Blaine "Bob" Burge and his wife Terry, and Melanie Drane and her husband Anthony. Nava also leaves behind her dear sister, Mary Wilson, and her treasured grandchildren: Abbie and D.J. Burge, Allison Canfield and her husband Seth, Adam Drane and his wife Briana, Andrea Bissell and her husband Alec, Jesse Pollock and his wife Casey, Amanda Kartes and her husband Jake, and Josh Burge and his wife Madison. Nava's legacy extends to 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Duane Burge and her beloved son, Steven Burge.
Nava Jo Burge will be remembered for her unwavering faith, dedication to her family, and joyful spirit. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In accordance with the family's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date, allowing her family and friends an opportunity to celebrate her extraordinary life. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Heritage Assisted Living of St. Marys and Adoration Hospice for their care and kindness given to Nava.
