We are saddened to announce the passing of Nancy Jane Summers, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Born in Parkersburg, WV on Wednesday, August 31st, 1938, Nancy graced this world with her presence for 87 wonderful years, before quietly departing on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, in her hometown of Parkersburg.
Nancy is lovingly remembered by her family, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her devoted children, Beth Cantwell (Michael), Gary Summers (Heather), and Rebecca Currence (Tim). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Nicole Combs (Michael), Morgan Smith (Brandon), Madison Brown (Michael), Timmy Currence (Alina Visnic), and Greg Currence (Keirston). Nancy's heart was further filled with joy by her great-grandchildren, Gavin Combs, Juniper Combs, Skyler Lane-Roberts, Levi Brown, Lily Brown, Hunter Smith, Ehren Currence, and Eisley Currence.
Nancy's life was one of dedication and hard work, having devoted 25 years as a stocker for J.C. Penny before continuing her career with Rural King for the last five years. She was a cherished member of the 7th Street United Methodist Church community, where her faith and fellowship were an integral part of her life.
Nancy was predeceased by her loving parents, Margaret E. Curfman and Carl Clayton Curfman, her sister Patsy Kite, her brother Willie Curfman, and her son Edward Summers. The love they shared was everlasting, and they are undoubtedly reunited in peace.
In accordance with Nancy's wishes, no public services will be held, and no additional services are planned. Her family will hold her in their hearts as they celebrate the vibrant and loving memories she leaves behind. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in South Parkersburg.
As we remember Nancy, let us celebrate the love, warmth, and kindness she bestowed on all who knew her. Her presence will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will forever guide and inspire her family and friends.
