N. Jeane Curry

d. June 23, 2016

Jeane Curry of Vienna, W.Va., passed away on June 23, 2016, following a brief illness. She was surrounded by loved ones and in the care of Dr. Spychalski and Housecalls Hospice at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. Jeane was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of Wilbur Stovall, Jr. and Mildred Jent. She moved to Vienna as a teenager and graduated from Parkersburg High School where she met and married her husband of 57 years, Earl Curry, Jr. Together, they raised two children and actively participated in the community as they operated the family business, Curry Transfer and Storage. Jeane was an avid golfer, green-thumb gardener, and a creative and innovative cook. She loved to read and travel, especially enjoying family's 2015 trip to England and Scotland. She was inquisitive and ebullient, feisty but also warm-hearted, a person who would rather give than receive. In memory of their daughter, Cindy, who passed away in 1984, Jeane and Earl established a college scholarship fund. Jeane spent many hours each spring reading applications and choosing recipients for the scholarship, then followed the school and career paths of those selected. Surviving are her husband, Earl; son Craig; daughter-in-law, Betsy; grandsons, Nick, Clint and Sean; step-mother, Willodene Stovall; siblings, Carolyn Gibson (Norman), Diane Sands, Bud Stovall, Sandy Sands (Ken), Donna Beltowski (Ray), Bobby Stovall (Becky), Gary Stovall, Beth Ann Ozog (Ken) and Jerry Cunningham; sister-in-law, Shirley Mearns (Jack); and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy; brother, Tommy; mother and father; and mother-and father-in-law, Edna and Earl Curry, Sr. Services will be held for family and close friends at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 708 54th Street, Vienna, WV 26105, at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 27, 2016, with visitation at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna is assisting the family with arrangements. Private burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg.
