Mildred Jane Oldaker, 99, of Mineral Wells, passed away on May 22, 2024 surrounded by her family at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born April 9, 1925 a daughter of the late Russell and Ethel Walton Currence.
She was a 1969 graduate from the Camden Clark LPN program, where she continued to serve for 20 years. She was a charter member of the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church since 1943. She was a member of the Gospel Mission Quartet, and an active member of the Women’s Guild for many years. The highlight of her life was her family and spending time with them.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shirley Morehouse (Verl Lakwynn) and Ronnie Oldaker (Deborah) both of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren, Kelly Peck (Jason) of Galena, OH., Annie Brown (Adam) of Bellville, OH., Cristi Work (Jay) of New Martinsville, OH., and Tami Brown (Chad) of Mineral Wells; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Brown, Cortlyn Brown, Anthony Work, Addison Brown, Cora Peck, and Ava Peck; a special nephew, Steve Currence; and a special niece, Kim Yeager.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William M. Oldaker and three brothers.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleums. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the funeral home.
