Michelle Ann Gates

Michelle Ann Gates, 47, of Parkersburg, passed away suddenly in her sleep at her home on September 28, 2018. She was born March 29, 1971, in Ripley, WV, the daughter of Douglas J. and Roberta Ann (Hickman) Sacchi of Parkersburg. Michelle was a 1989 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 1991 graduate of the Wood County School of Practical Nursing. She was employed at Worthington Manor for 22 years as an LPN. Michelle enjoyed needle pointing, scouting, attended DuPont Road Baptist Church, loved the beach and spending time with her sons and dog. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kevin Gates; two sons, Corey Alan Gates and William Douglas Gates both of Parkersburg; and her faithful companion and fur baby, Maggie. Michelle will be missed by all of her Boy and Cub Scout families along with a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Thomas McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens where a Broken Arrow Ceremony will be conducted by the Boy Scouts. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
