Michael "Mike" Sims

Michael D. “Mike” Sims, 76, of Parkersburg passed away Sunday January 14, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 3, 1947 in Parkersburg to the late Coy and Lula Courtney Sims.
Mike was a Sgt. in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed old cars, fishing and hunting.
Mike is survived by, his loving wife Violet Sims; a daughter, Debra Kana (Shawn) of Southwick, MA; two sons, Christopher Sims (Angie) of Walker, WV and Joby Sims (Jennifer) of Parkersburg, WV; stepchildren, Earnest Barker II of Parkersburg, WV, Joseph Barker of Huntington, WV, and Amber Casto (Travis) of Walker, WV; a sister, Carole Benson (Bill) of Arizona; two grandchildren, Sebrina Sims of Davisville, WV and Jocie Sims of Ona, WV; two greatgrandchildren, Sarayah Brightwell and Jaxen Miller.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Gerald, David, Edward and Eugene Sims; three sisters, Wilma Cook, Joann Valentine, and Donna Bartlett.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no services.
