Michael Roy Sampson

Michael Roy Sampson, 57, of Rockport, went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1967, a son to Roy M. and Janet E. Rogers Sampson.

He was a 1986 graduate from Parkersburg South High School and was employed as a fabricator and welder at Constellium Rolled Products in Ravenswood.  Michael was a member of Limestone Gospel Fellowship in Rockport. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Vickie L. Sampson; two sons, Justin Sampson (Jessie) and Devin Sampson; a brother, Mark Sampson (Tammy); brother and sister-in-law, Kevin Hart (Susan); grandson, Weston Sampson; nieces and nephews, Cari Matheny (Robbie), Matthew Sampson; Michelle Sampson, and Toby, Carly, and Shelby Hart; great nephew, Hayden Matheny; great niece, Reese Matheny; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roma and Dola Rogers and his paternal grandparents, Cyrus and Frances Sampson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg with Rev. Philip Dent officiating. Burial will follow on their family farm in Rockport. Family will accept visitors on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
