Michael Wayne Hershman, 68, of Belpre, Ohio passed away May 13, 2017 at his residence with family by his side. He was born September 26, 1948, in Wood County, West Virginia, a son to the late Marvin D. Hershman and Lala J. Schofield Hershman. Michael was an US Navy veteran, serving during the Viet Nam Era and in Desert Storm. He enjoyed travel, golf, and playing cards. He was a member of the Lubeck Church of Christ, 32nd Degree Mason, Order of the Eastern Star, and Friends of Selby, M.M.H. He was retired from Shell Chemical Company where he was employed as an Industrial Hygienist. Michael is survived by his wife Diane L. Doak Hershman; daughters Michelle Hershman of Vienna, W.V. and Melissa Worst (Dave), of Parkersburg, W.V.; step-sons, Joshua Waggoner, of Columbus, Ohio and Zachary Waggoner, of Belpre, Ohio; brothers Jerry L. Hershman (Dottie), of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Robert Schofield (Linda), of Mineral Wells, WV; brothers-in-law, Tom Doak (Lois), of Waterford, Ohio, Alan Porter (Tami) of Byesville, Ohio, Randy Porter (Lisa), of Cambridge, Ohio, Chris Doak (Johanna) of Waterford, Ohio, and Eric Doak, of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law Kelly Moore (Larry) of Zanesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian (Carol Kissner) and Anthony Worst (Kayla); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Carlotta White, and a brother David Hershman. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio, with Steve Fuchs officiating with Full Military Rites. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites and an Eastern Star Service held at the funeral home, during the evening viewing.
