Date and Time of Service: Sunday, July 18, 2010 2:00 p.m.posted 7/16/2010 at 4:00:31 PMMichael E. “Bear” Black, 58, of Parkersburg, W.Va. went to rest among the West Virginia hills July 16, 2010.Born July 1, 1952 in Parkersburg, W.Va., he was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Patsy Black.He was a 1971 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended vocational school in Pittsburgh where he became a diehard Steelers fan. After returning to Parkersburg he was employed at O'Ames, First Federal Savings & Loan, Magnet Bank and Mt. State Blue Cross/Blue Shield before becoming owner of Black's Maintenance. He retired from business June 30, 2010 and was looking forward to lazy days of hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.He is survived by his wife of 33 years, De Ann “Suzi” Eaton Black; daughters, Jami (Justin) Villers of Davisville, W.Va. and Jodi Black of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a sister, Jo Ann (Neil) Christiansen of Miami, FL; two nieces, Jeanne (Doug) Peacock and Tammy (Tim) Phillips all of Miami, FL; one great-niece and nephew, Shelby and T.J. Peacock both of Miami, FL; two aunts, Susie (Gene) Meredith of Coolville, Ohio, and Sharon Wright of Hockingport, Ohio. His extended family are the many life-long friends and family that have spent time camping in the mountains of Webster County.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Sister June Souder officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Michael.
