Merle C. FoxMerle C. Fox, 79, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed from death unto life on February 21, 2011.She was born in Tague, Braxton County, W.Va., a daughter of Earl and Caroline Hall Jarvis.She was one of ten children, six girls and four boys.Merle married Charles L. Fox Jr. on July 14, 1949, who preceded her in death in 2008.She was a homemaker and a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Vienna.She is survived by one son, Roger Fox of Wirt County; two daughters, Kay Elliott of Pettyville and Joy Roberts and her husband, John of Kanawha; six grandchildren, Chad Fox, Michael Elliott, Steve Elliott, Karen Sampson, Heather and Jessica Bell; two step-grandchildren, L.J. Roberts and Shayla Roberts; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lester, Earl Orville Jr., Steve and Ordie Jarvis; and three sisters, Margil Sharpes, Inez Frame, and Ellen Jenkins.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; one son, David Lee Fox; one granddaughter, Tracy Thompson; and two sisters, Annie Stump and Jessie Bishop.Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Robert May officiating.Interment will follow at the Evergreen South Cemetery.At Merle's request, there will be no visitation.
