Melvin Lee Boggs passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Gassaway, WV on December 21, 1938, Melvin lived a full life dedicated to his family, community, and faith.

Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of honor and dedication. Following his military service, he returned to civilian life as a lab technician at GE Plastics, where he made many lifelong friendships. Alongside his professional career, he was also a passionate pastor, guiding many with his gentle spirit and unwavering faith.

A man of many talents and interests, Melvin had a keen eye for photography and a skilled hand in woodworking. His warmth and generosity were reflected in every photograph he captured and every project he crafted.

Melvin is survived by his sons, Eric Boggs (partner Betty Stanley) and Darin Boggs (wife Leticia); stepson, Chad Strong (wife Kim); and stepdaughter, Melissa Cline. He was a cherished brother to Doris Davis, Linda Enoch, and Marvin Boggs, and left behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever remember his kindness and strength.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Connie Boggs; father, William Byrne Boggs; mother, Carrol L Boggs; sister, Madge Dean; and great-granddaughter, Rylee Cline.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in South Parkersburg and one hour prior to service on Friday. A funeral service celebrating Melvin's life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1 PM at the same location, with Pastor Leary VanHorn officiating. Following the service, Melvin will be laid to rest at Merrill Chapel Cemetery in Wirt County.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg.

As we say goodbye to Melvin, we remember a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. His legacy of love, service, and craftsmanship will continue to inspire all who knew him.
