Melinda “Mindy” Darlene Delaney, 57, of Vienna, WV passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by family, and with the compassionate care of Amedisys Hospice.
A daughter of the late Harold and Janice Weekley, Mindy was born July 5, 1967, in Clarksburg, WV. Mindy graduated from Doddridge County High School and went on to be a cashier at Office Depot and a caregiver for Affordable In-Home Care. Mindy was an avid West Virginia Mountaineers and Dallas Cowboys fan and a devoted Christian, attending The Rock Family Worship Center in Parkersburg, WV.
Mindy was most notably known for her kind and loving nature, as well as her admired strength. Mindy never allowed her health issues to get in the way of enjoying life and the time spent with family, friends, and her most loyal companions, Stitch, her dog and Frank, her cat. Mindy was caring, patient, compassionate, and always put others’ needs above her own. Her sons, Brad and Coty, were her entire world and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Mindy was an inspiration for so many people, and she will be greatly missed by the many who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mindy was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Riffle, and life-partner, Larry Guthrie.
