Mathew Franklin Moore

Mathew Franklin Moore, 91, died unexpectedly at his home, Saturday, October 25, 2025. He was born December 4, 1933, the son of the late Martin and Mary Mantz Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathryn Sue (nee: Valentine) Moore, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, John Moore and Joseph M. Moore, and one sister, Ann Moore Brown.

Mathew was a 1951 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended Marietta College. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Ohio University in 1962. He was a member of Eta Kappa Nu organization for engineering students and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. He retired from E.I. DuPont Company as a senior engineer with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a lifelong member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 3, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. John Rice as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Parkersburg. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Mathew might consider a donation in his memory to the food pantry project at St. Francis Xavier, or to a charity of choice.
