Mary K. Emrick Shuman was escorted to heaven by a host of angels to be greeted by her Savior, Jesus, Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Mary was also welcomed by her mother and father, Louise (Snyder) and Boyd (Dick) Emrick; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Hallie (Cox); brother and sister, Lee and Wanda Emrick; and grandsons, Jeremy Posey and Andrew Spiker. Mary’s surviving sister, Patty Emrick Hughes and husband Everett, of Belpre, prayed for Mary’s journey. Mary and her husband Bill celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary, August 24, 2016, surrounded by their loving family at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Because these two people fell in love and married in 1955, their love grew into; Daughter Kaye and husband Rick Spiker, Marietta, Ohio; Rich and Marsha Barr Spiker; Great Granddaughter, BreeAnna all of Vienna; Mike Spiker & Tina Younker; Great-Granddaughter, Alexis; Great-Great-Baby on board “Tadpole”, Petroleum, WV; Andy (deceased) & Tracy Bailey Spiker; Great Grandson, Christopher (Kimarie Beaver) and Great Granddaughter, Kyla of Williamstown; Daughter, K. Gale and husband Bob Posey of Vienna; (Jeremy, deceased); LaShay and James Evans, Great-granddaughters, Adrienna and Braelyn, Orlando, Florida; Christa (Garrett Lass) and Kaylee Posey, of Vienna; Daren Cunningham of Buckhannon; Rod and wife Vickie (Morris) Shuman, Matthew “Spike” Shuman and Sarah McClung, (Gavin and Landon), Baby boy Shuman on board; Shelley and Jason Czerr, Great-Grandson Bear all of Vienna; Sheila and Joe Nolan, Amie and James Edley; Great-Granddaughter Hannah and Great-Grandson Jesse; Tosha and Travis Aliff; Great-Granddaughter, Hannah and Great-Grandson, Jesse; Tosha and Travis Aliff and Great- Granddaughter, Lorelei; Brad Nolan all of Roanoke, Virginia. Mary and Bill’s church family and friends were there also to lift up and lay healing hands upon each other. Mary was a graduate of Belpre High School and a Mrs. Belpre representative in her younger years. She worked in the Wood County Tax Department from 1977 until retirement in 2000. Mary was a Prayer Warrior for family and friends, their families and Prayer Walked the entire valley. She supported missions around the world and sponsored many children. Mary participated in AGLOW, International House of Prayer (IHOP) and was an active member of Valley Harvest Church- now Freedom Gate of Marietta, Ohio. Mary cherished her family and was Nan or Nanny to three generations. Her cheerful “Hey there” greeting was her trademark. She spoke, taught, and practiced the Word to all. Mary was loved by many and treasured by her family. She will continue to be a moral compass and beautiful example of Christianity and giving spirit. Viewing will be Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 5th at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna. Service will be at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
