Mary Virginia Roberts

Mary Virginia Smith Roberts, 84 of Parkersburg, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord Dec. 29, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1932 in Parkersburg, daughter of the late Justin Smith and Lulu Belle Nester Matlack. She worked as a custodian for the Wood County Schools. She enjoyed reading and painting rocks and especially loved her dogs, Maggie, Soffie, Kasey, Millie, Hannah and Ashley. Mary was a member of the Church of Christ having attended throughout the local area. She is survived by a daughter, Rachelle (Tom) Moore of Parkersburg; her best friend, Nancy Caltrider; and friends, Peggy Shields, Carol Moore and Gina Cochran. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Earl Roberts; a son, Jeffrey Roberts; and her best friend, Betty Cottrill. There will be no visitation or services, burial will be at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg, WV is assisting the family with arrangements.
