Mary Veronica Rake

Mary Veronica Rake, 84, of Vienna, passed away November 5, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living, Marietta, Ohio. Mary was born September 1, 1933 in Wood County, WV, the daughter of the late Patrick and Josephine Davenport McGuirk. She was a homemaker ,loving mother and grandmother. Mary cherished time spent with her family. She attended DeSalles Heights Academy where she was an active alumni member, she attended Mountain State Business College and enjoyed Bingo Club, the Red Hatters, and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Parkersburg. Mary is survived by one daughter, Amy Campbell (Mark) of Walton, KY; three sons, Kevin Rake (Debbie) of Charleston, WV, Sean Rake (Lynn) of Cummings, Ga.and Sam Rake ( Kristal) of Columbus, OH; one brother, Patrick McGuirk (Ann) of Spring, TX; five grandchildren, Shane, Sarah, Caitlin, Justin, and Marshall; three great-grandchildren, Gianna, Calib and Travis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Rake; one son, Matthew Rake. Mass of Christian burial for Mary will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 10, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Parkersburg with Father John Rice officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV. A Christian Wake will be held Thursday at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
