Mary Margaret Edge

Mary Margaret Edge, 87, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born April 17, 1932, to Elsie Sams McAfee and Ralph Russell “Mac” McAfee. Grew up in Belpre, Ohio and attended schools in Belpre, where she was a member of the BHS marching band. After graduation she always planned class reunions. Mary was retired from the Wood County Board of Education as a Teachers Aid (Paraprofessional). She was a member of Beta Sigma Sorority since 1980 – chapter member of Preceptor Beta Alpha-received the Order of the Rose in 2005 and the Master degree in 2014. Mary loved attending the Conventions that occurred all over the state of WV. She served on the board of the Belpre High School Alumni Association since 2003 and held the office of President in 2005, when John Glenn came to town for the Association. Mary was so thrilled that she was privileged to meet this man and his wife. Mary and Ken were married in 1955 and were proud parents of daughter, Lynne and her husband Dale Peters of Parkersburg and son, Randy and his wife, Sandy of Davisville; granddaughter, Mary Beth Edge and partner, Phil Blair; grandson, Kenny Scott Edge and his wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kyler and Ashton; brother, Bill McAfee and his wife, Carole of Belpre; along with her nephew, Scott McAfee and wife, Melanie and their children, Connor and Maddie. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 2003; sister, May Richards in 2014; and brother, Chuck McAfee. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Sandy Runnion officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday with a sorority memorial service by Beta Sigma Phi at 7:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.
