Mary Ethel Hammond, 73 of ParkersburgW.Va. passed away May 3, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born October 26, 1942 in Wyandotte, Michigan daughter of the late William and Phyllis Clothier Sweet. She graduated from Asbury College with a four year nursing degree and retired from Camden Clark Hospital where she worked as an OR Nurse. Mary enjoyed doing crafts and loved making baskets. She had been a caregiver to many. She loved watching her grandson, Devin play basketball and loved being a Mamaw. She was a member of Calvary Memorial Church where she was involved in many activities. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Becci Nestor of Vienna, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Devin Hoehn and Drew Nestor both of Vienna; and two brothers, Lynn Sweet of Lexington, KY and Allan Sweet (Martha) of Versailles, KY. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Rob Collins officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
