Mary Ellen Gregg, 72, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away July 9, 2012 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.She was born November 24, 1939 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Noah and Thelma Amos Ward.Mary was the former owner and operator of Belpre Produce and had spent many years in the local produce business. She enjoyed working hard and instilled this ethic into her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her biggest joy. She was a longtime member of Ingold Chapel Church of Christ. Surviving is her one daughter, Deidra Powell Reese of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sons, Gregory Powell (Diana) of Florida, Mike Powell (Sandy) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Robert Powell (Julie) also of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; her former husband and father of their children, Roy Powell of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; step-children, Leonard Gregg (Sarah) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Jeannie Taylor (Dave) of Mineral Wells, and Steve Gregg all of Mineral Wells, W.Va., David Gregg (Linda), and Susie Gregg all of Belpre, Ohio; one brother, Terry Ward (Joene) of Fairmont, W.Va.; sister-in-law, Patty Ward of Pettyville, W.Va.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her second husband, Leonard Arden Gregg; and one brother, Danny Ward.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 12, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Mary's nephew, Kirk Ward, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
