Mary Frances Clevenger, 89, of Washington, W.Va. passed away June 9, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center and she is now with her Lord and Savior. Mary was born May 16, 1927, the only child of the late Francis Martin and Ruby (Gant) Martin. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart, Hobert (Hobe) Clevenger. They were married 58 years until his passing in 2004. Mary was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother her entire life. She was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church and the Helping Hands Sunday School class for 24 years and a prior member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years. She served in many roles in church over the years. Mary will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Carla (Bob) Dugan of Parkersburg, John (Jean) Clevenger and Kelta (Mark) Smitherman, both of Belleville, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Jody (Matt) Jackson, Kassie Cress, Summer (Lee) Maine, Joel Clevenger, Leslie (Jonathan) Floyd, Courtney (Drew) McLain and Francie (Jeff) Looney; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan Cress, Gannon and Ryan Jackson, Meadow Maine, Gatlin and Slaten McLain, Brandt Looney and Collin Floyd. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Jerry DePue. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant daughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg with Pastor Lloyd Hamblin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
