Mary Sue Burnfield Lemon Eddy

Mary Sue Lemon Eddy, 89, of Parkersburg passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Willows Center. She was born in Parkersburg, August 21, 1929, a daughter of the late James and Frieda Wolfe Burnfield. Mary started working at the age of 17 for the Wilmar Café, and worked as a seamstress for Misty Manufacturing, was a nurse's aide at St. Joseph Hospital, and was a clerk at Gray's Drug Store. She worked several years at K-Mart, South Parkersburg, and helped start the pharmacy there. Following K-Mart, she and her husband Nile established Faith Plumbing, which was named for their strong “FAITH in God” and they were in business for almost 40 years. She liked to sew, knit, and crochet and was a member for several years at Tri-City Baptist Church in Parkersburg. Mary is survived by three daughters, Lee Ann Maul (Alan), Janet Bosley (Tom), and Mary “Katy” Cain all of Parkersburg; one son, Burl “Smitty” Lemon II (Brenda) of Zanesville, Ohio; two step-daughters, Anita June Somerville (Butch) and Linda Moneypenny (Butch) both of Parkersburg; two step-sons, Danny Eddy (Susan) and Jeff Eddy both of Parkersburg; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nile Eddy; two sisters, Helen Grimm and Betty Grimm; one son-in-law, Dick Cain; and a step-son, Randall Eddy. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and Willows Center for their loving care of Mary and support of her family. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Tri-City Baptist Church, Parkersburg, with Pastor Joe Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
