Mary Elizabeth Bayer

Mary Elizabeth Bayer, 84 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Emeritus at Marietta.She was born April 15, 1930 in Vienna, a daughter of the late Daniel Edwardand Myrtle Grant Bayer.Mary retired from Keiser Aluminum Company after thirty years of service. She was a volunteer at Blennerhassett Island. Through her life she was very active in church. While at Wesley United Methodist Church she was involved with the United Methodist Youth Fellowship as a local officer and district officer. She was a member of the Wayside United Methodist Church for several years where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Bereavement Committee, Ruth Fellowship and U.M. Women where she served as an officer.She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bayer of Vienna; a niece, Maria Beth Bayer of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; and a nephew Daniel Wayne Bayer of Cincinnati, Ohio.In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by a half sister, Edith Bayer, a brother, Rev. Daniel Edward Bayer, Jr., and a great-niece Courtney Jane Little.Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Wayside United Methodist Church in Vienna with Reverend Greg A. Markins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.The family would like to give special thanks to Marietta Home Health and Emeritus @ Marietta for their loving care.
