Marvin Owen Eddy “Bones”, 71 , of Vienna, W.Va. was victorious in passing peacefully surrounded by family on April 24th, 2016 after recent diagnosis of a terminal illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Alice Eddy and three daughters Tammy Whipkey (Randy Sams), Trena Moyer ( Rob), and Tanya Eddy; eight grandchildren, Chandra DeBarr, (Jesse),Chasady Whipkey, Cassandra Crawford (Ronnie), Chuck Whipkey III, Channing Boston,Austin, Anessa, and Brandon Stanley; six great grandchildren, Kiera Trembly, Xavier Whipkey,Owen and Gracie Jackson, Edison Debarr, and Adilyn Whipkey; two brothers, Harold( Popcorn) Eddy (Mary Ellen) and Chuck Eddy (Gail);one brother and son at heart, Jimmy Weigle and Shawn Weigle; multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins and too many friends to mention. Always known as the “Village idiot”, Marvin was full of energy, happiness and zest for life. He never met a stranger and excelled in all he did. Marvin started working on the pipeline at a very young age and eventually merged into heavy equipment and construction trade alongside his best friend Jimmy Weigle. Before long, he ventured out on his own business SET Excavating with two mutual partners. Marvin was very well known for his outstanding sales ability while employed by longtime friend Buzzy Dils at Dils Lincoln Mercury. Marvin’s love of speed and fast cars led him into becoming a drag racing champion with Marvin’s Mule and a dirt track mini stock champion in car number “21”. Marvin was a wonderful farther and grandfather in which all of the neighborhood kids called dad or grandpa. Recently, he enjoyed time spent with many friends in Deland, Florida. Marvin’s stories will live forever in the hearts of many and he will never be forgotten. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Kate Eddy, one sister, Winnie Hardman, and three brothers, Carl (Biggen) Eddy, James (Leroy) Eddy and Gary (Freck) Eddy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marietta Memorial Hospital, Memorial Healthcare Foundation in Memory of Marvin Eddy. A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on Saturday April 30th, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna.
