Martin Jeffery Sams

Martin Jeffery Sams, 61 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away September 11, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born September 20, 1953 in Parkersburg, the son of the late Russell E. and Marian Mulligan Sams.Martin booked bands for entertainment and had a picture framing business. He belonged to the Civitan Club, Neighborhood Watch Group and was a member of New Life Baptist Church.He is survived by one son, Timothy Elliott (Teresa) of Parkersburg; three sisters, Joyce Olivia Kidder (Robert) of Cutler, Ohio, Janet McNemar (Ralph) of Parkersburg and Deanna Wolfe (Gary) of Vienna, W.Va.; three brothers, William R. Sams (Lois) of Washington, Walter J. Sams of Spokane, Washington and Joseph E. Sams (Balla) also of Washington; one grandchild, Lauren Elliott and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Sams and Delbert W. Sams; and two sisters, Judith Arlene Grimm and Valory Adkins.A memorial service for Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at New Life Baptist Church in Washington, W.Va. with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating.
