Martha Jane Tracewell

December 7, 1930 — January 12, 2019

Martha Jane McCualsky Tracewell December 7, 1930 to January 12, 2019. Martha was born on December 7, 1930 to Charles and Myrle Kirkpatrick. At age one she was adopted by William and Lucy McCaulsky. Martha graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1948. She was an avid roller skater and loved growing up next to the high school. Martha Jane married Cecil Tracewell in 1953. She worked at GC Murphy as a head cashier before becoming a homemaker and loving mother to her seven children, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She enjoyed time spent with them all. She had been the keeper of our secrets, our encourager and always a positive happy influence in our lives. She enjoyed embroidering, crafting, camping and traveling with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Tracewell in 2006, her youngest daughter, Sarah Tracewell in 2011, brother Charles Kirkpatrick, Jr, and sisters, Lucille Arnett and Agnes Ash. Martha is survived by her children; Jeff Tracewell, Tom Tracewell (Teresa Deaton), Jay (Pamela) Tracewell-all of Mineral Wells, WV, Terry Topolsky-Orlando, FL, Marianne (Floyd) Paulsen-Alexandria, IN, and Nancy (Micky) Moses-Decatur, TN. Also surviving are grandchildren; Patrick (Erin), Katie, Janelle (Nathan), Ally, Erik (Lindsey), Bryan (Jessica), Riley (Amanda), Emily and Alex; great-grandchildren, CJ, Lindsey, Jackson, Hadley, Cooper, Zoey, Kaleb and Brielle. We would like to recognize a special friend, Loretta Williams who showed much kindness over the years. Also thanks to Dr. Tracy Hendershot, Lisa Bibbee and Amedisys Hospice for their care and devotion. Friends are invited to call at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home-South on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Randal Fusion officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen South Cemetery. Those we hold closest never leave us, they live on in the kindness they’ve shared and the love they brought into our lives. We will miss you.
