Martha Ann Bailey

Martha Ann Spence Bailey, 85 went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 26, 2015. She was born May 13, 1929 in Massillon, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Raymond Clarence and Mildred Augusta Seevers Spence. She was formerly of Vienna, W.Va. but for the last seven years, she lived at the Marmet Center, Marmet, W.Va.In addition to her parents Martha was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Bailey Sr.; her son, George D. Bailey Jr., her brother, David O. Spence; one granddaughter, Kendra Suzanne Phillips; and one great-granddaughter, Bailey Phillips.Martha was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She loved bird houses, gardening, sewing, reading, taking pictures, genealogy, a good garage sale, and was a good storyteller of the family history. Her children were the joy of her life.She is survived by five children, Beth Ann Kagey (Danny) of Columbia, MD, Barbara Louise Evans (Don) of Marietta, Ohio, Beverly Raye Phillips (Kendall) of Edmond, OK,Bonnie Sue Wilkinson (Don) of Newalla, OK, and Benjamin Bryan Bailey (Christa) of Athens, OH; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Strimer Bailey of Charleston, W.Va; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Rev. John Strimer officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Mondayat the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
