Mark K. Powell, 68, of Little Hocking, OH, passed away November 8, 2025 at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. He was born March 26, 1957 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Charles Jr. and Hazel J. Vandall Powell.
He worked in electrical design and sales at State Electric from 1975-2001, co-owner of Control Design and Integration from 2001-2003, and at Gexpro Services from 2003-2025. He attended Cedar Grove Christian Ministries in Parkersburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and coaching girls’ sports. He was a WV state archery champion, and was a member of a local men’s traveling softball team.
Mark had a magnetic personality and had many lifelong friends. His quick sense of humor and love of laughter was contagious.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Powell; daughters, Tori, Kimberly, Heather, and Molly Powell; sons, Ben Powell (Lesley) and Scott Blevins (Carly); grandchildren, Bryar, Makenzie, and Kaiden; brother, Mike Powell (Mary); and sister, Tanya Powell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Todd Powell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family requests for any memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
